Meet the Team: Matt (Mo) Overholtzer
Position: Associate Talent Consultant
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Joined ORS: May 2018
Alma Mater: West Chester University
Why did you choose ORS?I chose ORS because of the open environment and the close-knit feel within the team.
What do your family members think you do for work?Originally, they thought I was a typical headhunter. After explaining everything else we do in addition to typical “recruiter” duties they got a better understanding.
How would you describe a recruiter versus a talent consultant?A recruiter’s job is mainly to fill jobs, however as a talent consultant, recruiting is just one of our functions. We also audit client’s hiring processes, advise on hiring best practices, and more.
What has been the most exciting or rewarding project you’ve taken part in while at ORS?The most exciting project I’ve taken part in was with goPuff in early 2019. goPuff was going through a national expansion and I enjoyed being part of that as well as seeing behind the scenes of one of the hottest startups right now.
What is most challenging about your position? The most challenging part of my position is delivering bad news to candidates that I’ve been working with. It’s tough, but I always try and give candidates feedback to assist with the rest of their job search.
Tell us about something you like to do outside of work.
I love playing soccer in the Philly recreation leagues and just relaxing with friends.
Matt enjoying time outdoors!
Name something on your bucket list. One item on my bucket list is to skydive without being tandem with an instructor. Once I land on the ground solo, I'll never do it again!
