Why did you choose ORS?
I chose ORS because I had some co-workers from TEKsystems who had joined the company and they said great things about it. Coming from close to 5 years in the staffing and the contingent world, I loved the idea of consulting and dedicating my time to supporting several customers at a time in varying industries.
How would you describe a recruiter versus a talent consultant?
I would say a Recruiter fills an open req, they take the requirements that are needed and find the best candidates possible to fill that req. A Talent Consultant integrates themself into the client they are supporting, becomes a part of the organization and does more in addition to filling open jobs. A Talent Consultant is a resource for the client to utilize for recommendations on interview, onboarding and networking processes and more.
What has been the most exciting or rewarding project you’ve taken part in while at ORS?
Being the Lead for the Exyn project was an amazing experience. I was able to really grow and provide great consulting services to the them and they were an exciting client. They work on very cutting-edge technology in the world of robotics and it was very cool to see what they were working on! They develop autonomous software for drones for navigation and mapping, so on most days I was in the office there were constant test flights with the drones. Very cool stuff!
What is most challenging about your position?
Finding balance and utilizing your time to be the most constructive. Every client has different needs and I love getting to switch it up and support new customers, but it can take some time to find the right way to allocate your time to meet each client’s needs.
What skills make someone successful at ORS?
Willingness to grow, learn and the ability to take on responsibilities. ORS will provide you the tools and training you need to take your career wherever you want if you are willing. I believe that a good solid work ethic will always serve you well and the clients you support will always take notice of that.

Tell us about something you like to do outside of work.
I love to travel - I have been to many countries and have set foot in 5 of the 7 continents. I even got engaged to my wife on a trip! I proposed to her when we did the Trolltunga hike in Odda, Norway.

Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by anyone that finds success yet remains humbled. I used to look up to the guys who pounded their chest after they scored a touchdown when I was little. But as I got older, it completely shifted and I find inspiration by the quiet leaders who perform their work well, who do not boast after every victory and who still lend a helping hand to others who were once where they were at.
